I have to be honest and say I wasn’t going to write this post. While I had seen the photo making the rounds online, I wanted to scroll past, to pretend like my heart didn’t break a little bit every time I saw it. Because everyone has been touched by cancer in some way, but when it ravages a child, it just somehow seems even more unfair.
But that’s reality, and the hard truth is cancer is never easy to face, yet people valiantly fight every day.
One of those fighters is Drake, the ten-year-old son of Jessica Medinger, who shared this phototo help raise awareness.
She documents her sons journey at ,and according to the pages about section, Drake was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia B-Cell (A.L.L. B Cell) on Sept 29, 2012. He reached the milestone of maintenance on June 6, 2013. This page is dedicated to his fight with childhood cancer. Drake is an avid Cars fan and enjoys demo derbys and figure 8s. We ask that you join his Pit Crew in support of him and his fight.
The photo was shared on the Facebook page, where Medinger wrote:
